yes i searched. I got the gauges install know for the wires. i know popsitive negitive thats easy. i need to know where the other wire (the purple one) for air/fuel ratio. i know the o2 sensor. isn't that the piece right after the intake? well theres a plug on that.(don't know how to take it off. i'm i on the right track? well if i get in there what wire (color) do i splice into? seems to be a stupid question and i have a book on my car it just tell more about a stanza and nothing ever really about my car. thanks guys this helps alot.

guess ur talkin about an air/fuel gauge. the purple wire goes to the o2 sensor. u can run it intot he engine bay to the o2 sensor wire. the o2 sensor is onthe exhuast manifold has 1 wire coming off it. or u can tap intot he ecu plug which i did much cleaner to me. on my 95, which should be the same for u, u pop off the white plastice cover on the ecu plug. start from the bottom go two rows over and tap into the first white wire goin up. theres another thread on this

i connected everything. the purple to the o2 sensor and when i run the car it goes all wacko. back and forth then when i slow down goes all the way down and seems like it turns off. but as soon as i get to my idle it starts up again. what the fu*k. i'm getting pissed off about this car. i just put in 800.00 dollar of work (new distributer) this sucks what do you think about the gauge. has anyone had any problems like this? or is it my o2 sensor? never replaced it in the 4 years of having the car. thnks guys.

You can use a multimeter and OHM check the O2 sensor to see if its working or not.

I forgot the spec but I think its around 14 Ohm, check a FSM.

The AF gauge is supposed to bounce back and forth wildy and stabilize when you are driving. They are not the most accurate tools to monitor AF.

no it doesn't go to green when i hit the gas just bounces back and forth. i might have it hook up wrong. how man wires connect the o2 sensor. i might just need to go right off the ecu but still not sure which one exactly the o2 sensor connects to. pictures of eather install would be great if any. thanks guys again

Like the other guy said, the O2 has either 1 or 2 wires, if its 1 then just tap directly. If its 2 then figure out which one is the sender wire.

It might be easier for you to tap the wire directly on the ECU.

Yea you probably have it hooked up wrong, or your O2 sensor is having issues.
