What's the best air freshener? I'm not asking about smell in particular, I'm asking about particular brands and how long they last. I'm tired of theses things lasting 1-2 weeks instead of the 30 days the packaging claims. Any insight into what you may use and how long it lasts? Thanks.

Wow, 6 months?!?! Do you always keep your windows up? I have to find a local store that has them so I can check out the scents. I heard car fabreez lasts about 30 days, any experience with them?

it could of lasted me that long because I had it since the winter time.

I've tried lots of air freshener and the gel and solid types have always been the best, since they evaporate into the air over time.(depending on how hot that day was)
So i don't think your fabreez would last more then a few days.

All of my buddys uses air spencer cs-x3. Maybe you might like them instead.

I always stick with whatever type of squash they have.

Scent bomb is one of, if not the most potent air fresheners you can buy.

Here's my story:

I have used the Air Spencer CS-X3 as well, however, the smell didn't last more than a couple of weeks. I liked the smell so much, that I ordered them 3 at a time, so I could replace them every couple of weeks.

Then, I went to the Orange County Fair (CA) a couple of years ago, and saw a booth for car air freshener. I asked "Do you have anything that smells like my Air Spenser - Japanese Squash smell?" And the rep said "Yes, I have a smell called 'Japanese Squash!'" It actually smells a lot like the Air Spenser! The air freshener brand that I purchased is called Scent Bomb. You purchase this bag that has your scent that you picked in it, enclosed in another bag of 'beads' that is not meant to be opened. This smell alone lasted me for about 3 months. Once that smell goes away, you spray the concentrated air freshener in a bottle [sold seperately or as a bundle bag and bottle]) on the Scent Bomb bag, and a few sprays will last you several days!

I have not even used half of my bottle in the couple of years that I have had the bag and bottle combo.

Scent Bomb Scent Pouch and Scent Bomb Concentrated Air Freshener 1oz and 2oz Bottles: http://quickcareproducts.com/index.php? ... Path=65_87

Sorry about the spelling of 'bomb' - this forum will not let me post it the way that I want.

Anyways, anyone who wants to purchase a quality air freshener, this is the one to get! :dance

I use the febreeze vent clips. They smell really good in any scent. They are really strong thoughin the beginning. They last for about a month.

Buy a bottle of your favorite cologne. Crack open the bottle and pour it on the carpet. Leave the car closed up over a hot weekend. Done!

Very good suggestion, I actually thought of that for a second, but my colognes are too expensive for that. I might try it if I get no other positive results.

I think I'm going to try scent b0mb because it has one of my favorite colognes...issey miyake, and one of my favorite car scents black ice, plus a lot of others that sound interesting.

Try these...

You don't have to be in elementary school to giggle at these in-underwear deodorizer fart pads. Laced with activated charcoal, these ingenious (but not particularly sexy) adhesive pads help neutralize even the most odoriferous of releases. Just think, no more embarrassing silent-but-deadlies midmeeting or blaming that noxious smell on the dog. They're surely a lifesaver for anyone suffering from intestinal issues, and they definitely beat overdosing on Chanel No. 5.

Back from the dead....scent bomb, I do regret it. The oily bag messed up my clock glass when it accidentally came in contact. Stained it something terrible and wouldn't come off...submerged in soapy water, scrubbed, nothing worked. Top it off, didnt seem too potent or long lasting to me...maybe because i keep my windows open. Anyway got a new clock under warranty due to "condensation". And now summer is rolling around and I'm thinking of something new from reading about M37 setups. Has anyone thought about putting scented sticks on the air filters? Direct injection, away from free flowing breeze to wear it out from open windows, a little more umph in the scent being carried by the fans direct to the nostrils. Thoughts?

Glare is the sh*t "For Luxury Car" lol. I use the same as well. Roll down your windows and let the air in, you'll start to smell it again.

The Carall Glare air freshener is the best especially during the summer. Can never go wrong.

I also use Chemical Guys New Car Smell and leather scent in combination. Everyone and I mean everyone compliments me on it and says, "i really like the smell of your car, it smells expensive". Reason they say that is because it literally smells like a new car and leather. I never go wrong with it. You can buy both of those scents on amazon via PRIME for like 13 dollars for two big bottles. Spray on carpet.

I'm not sure how the bag (which gets oily once you put the perfume on the bag) would even be near a clock glass to mess it up, let alone the dash or any components up front. I knew as soon as I sprayed the perfume the first time (99.9% of all perfumes are oily) that I would have to put the bag somewhere that wouldn't have the potential to leave any stains. I keep the bag (which had an initially strong scent for a few weeks) on the rear center transmission hump on the carpet and spray or dabble some of the perfume on it when I want to have the smell in the car for a few days.

I would suggest buying several different types of scents and perfumes, to see what you like the most; because what someone else likes may not mean that you will necessarily like it yourself.

Here are a few different types of scents/applications, that if you haven't tried yet, you may like:

Car Vent Clips:

Febreze Car Vent Clips Air Freshener, 2 Count - http://www.amazon.com/Febreze-Clips-Fre ... 5735121_37

Febreze Car Vent Clips Linen & Sky Air Freshener, 0.13 Fluid Ounce each - http://www.amazon.com/Febreze-Clips-Lin ... 5735121_35

Refresh Your Car Dual Scent Vent Sticks -Alpine Meadow / Summer Breeze - http://www.amazon.com/Refresh-Sticks-Al ... 5735121_53

Non - Aerosol Air Freshener:

Blue Magic NA22 Pure Citrus Natural Non-Aerosol Air Freshener 7 fl. oz. BLEND, 6-Pack - http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Magic-Natura ... 5735121_74

Gel-Base Air Fresheners:

Treefrog Natural Air Freshener - Black Squash - http://www.amazon.com/Treefrog-Natural- ... 5735121_89

Treefrog Natural Air Freshener - New Car - http://www.amazon.com/Treefrog-Natural- ... auto_img_y

New Treefrog Under the Seat Gel Air Freshener (Marine Squash) - http://www.amazon.com/Treefrog-Under-Fr ... auto_img_z

Hopefully one of these will help you out, but if not, there are a lot of scents/applications to choose from or you can create a great smelling scent yourself.

Good luck! :)

I always use Cherry clip ons, I get about 3 of them, two for the drive & passenger vent and I for the vent in back, if they don't have Cherry, I roll with the Coconut man, can't be beat it and they last me about 2 1/2 - 3 months. When family or friends get in the whip, they always says the ride smells good, My Step Mom got in and said car smells good and asked what the scent was and I told her. To make a long story short I gave her 2 of my packets that I had in my glove box that I always keep for my stash fellas, lol. To this day she has my Dad use the same scent.

I buy a spray bottle of Griot's Garage car scent - they have different scents like 'new car', etc. I use the leather scent and saturate an applicator pad with it, then slide it under the passenger seat. The fan from the seat helps spread the scent. Some of my mates use it as well in non-Infiniti cars and they pour a small amount on the front carpet where it meets the dash - also works great. My car always smells like new leather - not overpowering, just a hint of leather.
