Does anyone have a source for air filters for the M45 other than the dealerships? Even an aftermarket brand name would assist me.

Thanks,

Get them from http://www.everythinginfiniti.com ... this is our friendly Infiniti dealership (as for Joe Tsensky by name) who treats us folks very well!

Get a K&N Filter! Clean it every other oil change for the life of the car. Let it breath a little bit better. My car had one in it when I bought it.

Hello,K&N filters are contentious to say the least. Some find it funnels in more of the things you do not want going into the intake. I stay O.E.M.Cheers,Mark

Whoops, no! Please do not use oiled air filters. They have side-effects on our cars with long-term performance degradation.

Please do a search for the topic and you will see why we all recommend sticking with OEM air filters ... they are inexpensive enough that this should not be an issue.

Using a properly cleaned, oiled and dryed air filter like a K&N is perfectly fine. The MAF's in these cars are no different than any other. If there is ever a problem due to over oiling, you can simply spray the MAF with cleaner and you're back to new again.

You cannot convince me that over time you are degrading the performance of the vehicle by using a K&N. If anything, it traps more dirt and allows more air through, exactly what you want!

My car had one since new, bought it with 40,000+ on it and I am still using it!

Boy has K&N brain washed the population concerning filtration [more air better filtration] compared to oem.

However any extra ring wear from extra fine dirt won't show up until after 100,000 miles and is usually only a problem for 2nd and 3rd owners.

We advise our prebuy inspection clients to run as fast as they can from any used car that has or has had evidence of any aftermarket cone filters.

The less than 1% power loss oem filters and their housings create is a great trade off for the longevity it provides. If anything those that want more longevity should add EXTRA layers of filtration in front of oem designs.

Most engines would last 500,000 mile except for poor air and oil filtration.
