I bought an airfilter with its adapter for my 89 nissan 240sx.when I tried to install it, some wires (i think its the air sensor and a hose) that used to be connected now arent connected because where they used to be connected that part I had to remove and I was wondering was that suppose to happen?

I am pretty sure you need your MAF sensor

Plug the hose. It's just going to the AIV, which you might want to remove anyway, does almost nothing.

I'm guessing the filter you got came with an adapter for in between the filter and the stock air tube. This adapter is for a spot to plug in the MAF, which you need to run the car, hands down. The sensor I think you are talking about is the air temperature sensor, which you can mount anywhere near the filter, because it just measures the temperature of air that the motor is getting.
