The Service Engine Soon light for my 97 Infiniti Q45 came on, so I checked and found the following 5 codes:

P0120--TPS/Pedal Position Sensor Circuit MalfunctionP1705--Manufacturer Control TransmissionP0330--Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2)P0732--Gear 2 ratio incorrectP0733--Gear 3 ratio incorrect

I replaced the air filter and added a fuel additive and cleared the codes. After driving the car more than 100 miles the light has not come back on and the codes have not returned. Is it possible that such a simple fix could have resolved the issue, or is there a major problem lurking around the corner? Shouldn't the light have come back on soon after the codes were cleared if a problem existed? Thanks for your help.

Generally the ecu uses number of cranks and cold to warm up cycles how many repeats of codes before it sets them. 1 crank and 100 miles is not as good test as opposed to multiple warmups then off then another warm up.

When you use a Consult II it tells when the code was set how many cranks ago vs current codes at this crank.

Hey what ended up being the problem with yours. My 97 q45 is throwing the exact same codes. It just started about a week ago. I am thinking it may be athrottle position sensor starting to go out, because I have had some weird idle problems. Just curious what you have found out.

Wilky.
