Hey, new to this sight and new to Q45 ownership (about 2 days now). SOO much easier working on a 3 series bimmer, but that's the past... Trying to find the air duct between the MAF and the throttle body. Didn't see anything under the classifieds. Dealer wants $229, I'd rather not. Oh, and it's for a '96. Any ideas?

Many thanks!

douglas allen wood.

Bullittandy's Gently Used Q-Bits has great prices and great service. My ride is hauling around a whole mess of his detritus. Pretty sure his loser donor car's (goldmine) bits would fit your rides as his is a 97. But, he may have several more by now.

Did you mean to say 'wouldn't'?

96 = G5097 = Y33

Ayup! My proofreading skills are almost as weak as my wrenching skills.Thanks for the heads up. What I meant to say was:

"ANDY'S 97 AIR INTAKE WILL IN NO WAY FIT YOUR CAR. APPLES AND ORANGES...NOT EVEN CLOSE, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. NOT A CHANCE. KEEP LOOKIN'. CALL JOE, CALL MOE, JUST DONT CALL ANDY. DIFFERENT ENGINES, DIFFERENT MODELS. DIFFERENT THERMOELASTIC PROPERTIES OF THE RUBBER"

The car is having some issues and I noticed the air duct is broken and held together with electrical tape. Is broken the right word? Torn... It stutters often and will only reach 6k rpm in first gear (in subsequent gears, it struggles and bucks it's way to about 5k and I just give up). It's also not always responsive. About half the time I give it some gas it feels real boggish and I have to feather it or really give it some peddle and have it kick down to get anything out of it, just normal driving anything, not asking for much. I know having "leaks" post MAF can cause some serious trouble, and given the tape and the big crack, thought this was a logical place to start.
