Hi,
I've just got my first versa and was wondering, anyone knows where could I get air deflector for the hood?
I've had some bad experiences with small stones chipping away my paint on other cars and since then I always put the hood deflector on all my cars, but I couldnt find this anywhere on the net.

Thx.

Why not a clear bra made by many manufactures. It doesn't look stupid and it protects the car just as good.

I don't think it looks stupid, I like it on my Versa, it matches my window deflectors ;)
This was the very first accessory I bought for my Versa. I bought it within the first week or two of ownership.

Its offered as an accessory here in Canada. Cost is just shy of $80 CDN.

Some US members have purchased it online from different manufacturers. Hopefully one of them can help you out.

I don't think it looks stupid either. It also offers a better protection than the clear bra.
Unfortunately I can't seem to find it online, and all canadian dealers declined to ship to the US, so I have no idea how to get it.

If anyone can help me out with an idea or a place to purchase from, it would be greatly appreciated.

I had to buy mine from Canada. heres the link http://cart.oakvillenissan.com/product_ ... cts_id=399. I forgot shipping costs, but they werent pretty. I didnt care, I got mine and I *LOVE* it. Looks great and yes, it does cut down on bugs. I drove through NC one night on my way to chicago...and the bumper was absolutely DESTROYED with bug carcasses, but the winshield maybe had a dozen big strikes...im talking the bumper was raped...sodomized and totally %&$#*@ up!

Anyway...good luck in your quest for a deflector...It can be had.

I can only imagine what you paid in shipping costs. I was looking at purchasing the cargo net/clips from an American Nissan site, items were totalling $30 US (and weighing in at less than 5 pounds) and shipping was over $80. I didn't end up ordering it from them.

Here's my hood deflector.

I love it and am glad I have it. My hood would be destroyed without it.

Waitwaitwait... they now offer a cargo net and clips? Pics or link? I can't find it listed in the Versa accessories on the Nissan website...

EDIT: n/m, found the post...

Kimber: They don't offer it yet as a "Versa" accessory. I have wanted one FOREVER and emailed Canaan (PromiseLand) about it. He figured out which "Nissan" net and clips would work in our hatches trunk. He listed the part numbers. I am having a fellow Versa member order the parts for me and then ship it to me as it's cheaper than me having it shipped directly to Canada. Nissan websites want too much $ for shipping.

Here's the part numbers you need:
Trunk Net 999C1-UT000 (need 1)
Trunk Net Hook 84937-ZB000 (need 2)
Trunk Net Hook 84937-ZB100 (need 2)

I will post pictures up of the install when I get it.

Well thanks for iluvmyVersa08 and NCJack for the help, here is the breakdown of what I found out.

There is apparently 2 ways to get the hood deflector.
1 - http://www.wooddash.com - a third party manufacturer in the US
2 - http://www.oakvillenissan.com - a canadian dealer who will ship to the US.

The second was my choice since it's the original nissan item and the order can be placed online, altough the shipping is kind of high - probably double of what the other would have been.
Will let you know when it arrives and how it works out.

You, sir, will not be disappointed. Installation is easy, just take your time and measure. If you dont have one, get a measuring tape meant for tailoring; It wont leave any marks on your car and will contour with the hood since its made of cloth. Easily obtainable at Walmart

Shipping was quite fast as I remember, they ship through Purolator, then hand it off to UPS once here in the states.

Regards,
Jack

Be sure to post pics of it when you finally get it :)

It is an easy install. My dad helped me to install it, just clips/screws on in various places.

It is super easy to install. Just read the instructions and you'll be fine.

Here's a pic today after I detailed my car, shows the "NISSAN" name on the deflector (bottom right side of deflector).

No you don't have to drill anything. It comes with clips and screws (if I remember correctly). Put them in place where the instructions tell you, screw it in and your good to go.
I think it took my dad about 15 mins total to install. First you have to measure where to put the little 3M plastic pieces on the hood. Then after that, it's smooth sailing.

Update!

So, I've got my deflector and already installed it last night.
Oakville Nissan in Canada (where I got it from) was very courteous, shippment was on time but a bit pricey.

Installation is straightforward but slightly more complicated than on other brands. All you need is a screw driver and a rubber hammer in case the push pins arent align perfecty. In that case you might need to hammer them in from the inside of the hood and a rubber hammer goes a long way without damaging the metal or the paint. (and the pins are under the hood anyways, so no biggie)

After installing I noticed that mine was off center by 1/8 of an inch, but you can notice by close inspection only, so its ok with me.
My only issue is with the "bumpons" - the little rubber half globes that are sticking on the hood freventing the deflector from touching the hood. The two on the side are perfect, but the one on the middle has a 1/8-1/16 of an inch gap between the top of the bumpon and the deflector. It still doing it's job, since the deflector does not touch the hood, but I would feel better if the two would connect. I was thinking about moving it further down the hood, but there would be no guarantee that it would make any difference and it would have required me to take the whole thing apart again, so I will leave it for now.
Anyone else has had this issue?

And finally, where could I get more of those bumpons in case I'd like to put 2 more evenly spaced?

Don't worry, my 'bumpon' in the centre does not touch the hood deflector either. I've had the deflector on for almost 2 years and not one issue with it damaging my hood.

Glad to hear Oakville Nissan provided good service! I have yet to go to that dealership ... but always nice to hear!

They save the flat part of the hood from getting destroyed. Image
