my 1993 j30 has had a new compressor, new expansion valve, new reciever/drier, has been flushed and fully charged. When I initially start up it is cool, but after driving 3 minutes it begins to get warm, I have had the run around with this problem, the mechanic said to change the fan clutch and i changed it to no avail. ?>?>?>?>?>?>?>?>?>?>your help is appreciated thanks

Hm. I don't think you're humid enough there to be freezing condensate on the evaporator, are you? I'd make whoever did the work do a charge test, and see if you've developed a leak. Sounds like low refrigerant level symptom.

that's what i'm thinking... i'd get a stop leak charge and have a licensed person recharge the system with coolant

See if he compressor clutch is working when it's not cooling. Look down on the drivers side lower front of the engine for the AC clutch which is on the front of the compressor. The fan belt is always turning the compressor pulley but if the clutch is not engaged then the front of that pulley (the magnetic clutch)will not be turning. Too much freon will cause the hi pressure switch to cut off the compressor clutch so you only get cooling every few minutes which you failed to mention or do you only get several minutes and no more? Is it still engaged when you lose cooling? Check the low side filler tube on the passenger side top rear firewall in the engine compartment. It should be cold cold.. If so your heater doors inside are not taking the air through the cooling coil. Give us some more info.
