What's up guys, my name is Todd, this is my first post here.

I just bought a '94 240SX Convertible. LOVE the car. Like most 240's, the AC has been removed. I had some trouble finding answers through search, so I figured I would ask:

Is the AC on the 240SX good? Is it really cold? Worth fixing?

My car doesn't have an AC compressor, lines, condenser, or receiver dryer, (What else is in the 240SX AC system?)

I plan to do the SR20DET swap, but I want air conditioning.

If you plan to do SR the lines will have to match it. So depending on when that will happen will tell you if you want to have AC before then.

Yes the 240 AC system works well.

You can get everything used except the dryer. But again to get the SR AC to work will have to be a custom line from compressor to firewall. A few people have done it, should be able to google it.

How different is the location of the compressor between KA and SR? and is the compressor the same?

Edit:

look at this.. http://www.sr20acbrackets.com/

Seems promising, so I sent him an email.

Also, it will be about a year or two before I get my SR20, so how different are the lines? and Are only two of the lines different? That's my guess.

They are different, you basically have to get a custom line that hooks to the SR compressor on one end and the US stuff on the other end. Again a few people have done it in S13s, they may even be someone making the conversion lines.

Absolutely! It's very cold. I'm doing a RB25 det swap in mine and the mechanic said I might need to ditch it to free up some space. I pleaded with him to make sure I get my AC back. If I lived up north or in some coastal town I could deal, but not in Georgia. Gets too hot to go with out.
