Just got my new compressor and all installed at Costa Mesa Infiniti today. Only charged me $64.16 to recharge with "R12 Freon******LOCAL FREON" whatever that is. I assume that's real R12,

Total labor and freon was $779. Had the other parts myself.

So I'm driving around today. It was pretty warm 77 - 83 degrees. Put the a/c on regular at 68 - 72 degrees. Seemed it may not be as cold as new. The fan stayed on the 3 speed of the 4 speeds most of the time.

Okay, here's the question....to test the proper temperature can't a tech stick a thermometer in the vent? If so, what should the temp be?

Here's some other interesting stuff about the dealer service.... I'm always leary of the dealer packing unneeded stuff. I have a great independent, Takeda Enterprises in Garden Grove, CA, that handles my basic service and repair very econimically. Here's what the dealer recommeded:1) Brake fluid flush 129.952) Power steering flush. I just had the pump replaced this year. 129.953) Induction service (injectors) 149.954) Oil pressure swith leak 159.31 (I'll have my mechanic do this and get the part form Scottsdale)I'd be happy to hear any comments on this too.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,Doug

Wow.

But isn't the injector flush about $150 anyway at a good BG shop? At least $100.

I didn't like the reception I got at Infiniti of Maple Shade so I'm a not a fan of them. Damn G35 babies.

Perhaps Infinti of Willow Grove will treat me nicer.

Sometimes when my air doesn't feel cold, (lukewarm and a tad smelly actually) it helps to switch it to Windshield Defogger with the fan speed on high, and then switch back to Face. It blows ICE COLD and the knuckles of my left hand (directly in front of the vent) ache horribly.

Be sure your mechanic realizes the oil pressure sender unit is some wierd Britsh plumbing standard thread.

Prices seem about right for left coast.
