I've been mulling over all the tasks that need to be done for me to pull the KA out of my S13. One thing I have a question about is pulling the A/C refrigerant lines. Since I have a '91, I believe it still has Freon (R12) in the system. If I drive the car to an A/C certified shop before I start pulling the motor, and have them recover the refrigerant from the system, will it then be safe for me to pull off the refrigerant lines? Or are there other additional steps I need to take...relieving pressure from the lines or something of that nature.
I know this is probably a dumb and obvious question, but I just want to make sure 1) I don't vent a whole bunch of R12 into the atmosphere and 2) I don't lose an eye, a digit, or blow up something in the process. Unfortunately, A/C systems aren't something I know a whole lot about, so your help is greatly appreciated.
