My AC has been out of charge for a long time now... I just recharged it myself today and it started out working great...

But after a while the AC pump turns on and off every little bit... And it does this untill the car cools down. Then the Pump starts working all the time...

So what would cause the AC pump to cycle when the engine is hot? Is there a switch that tells it my engine is hot and to turn off the AC?

I don't think there is because I've had my car overheat before (temp gauge going up to H) w/ the a/c on because my a/c condenser fan was not working correctly.

So just for the other ppl to know since I prob can't help much, everything else works normal (i.e. rpms go up when you turn on a/c & a/c condenser fan turns on).

Also, does this happen @ the 1-2 setting, 3-4 high setting, or doesn't matter?

The AC fan does turn on and the RPM's jump to 1k... It will start out working great but it seems that after a while it starts to just engauge and disengauge the pump and a steddy intervolt. It happens is all the settings.

I noticed it becuse the car felt like it was having a missfire... But just the sudden load of the AC turning on and off making my engine shutter. The air does not come out much colder then outside when this is going on.

Your A/C will click off when you start to overheat.

The A/C also will click off when you go WOT.

It could be a faulty clutch or a faulty electrical as well.
