Has worked fine forever. This spring I fired it up and all I get is just regular old air. I was wondering if it might be a fuse thing. Or if the A/C button itself when whack. The little green light inside the A/C button no longer illuminates when the button is pushed in.

What do y'all think? I get plenty of fan action, just no cooling action, and it doesn't sound like the compressor is kicking in.

Now the dumba$$ part, is there another fuse box other than the one under the hood near the battery.

Thanks for any help

Sorry to tell you but you probably got a nice leak. The green light won't come on and the compresser won't cycle if there is no freon in the system. The a/c pressure switcth is on the dryer. If you really need A/C like me , you better hope the leak is at a condenser. Check for an oily dirty residue on the condenser. Only about $240 from Nissan. Might as well change the dryer too. If it inside (at the evaporater) GOOD LUCK finding it (the leak) and fixing it.

The bad news is you are going to have to change over to R-134a. It is nowhere near as cold as your original super cold R-12 system.

accualy, you can stay r-12, it is about $50 a bottle, not really worth it but you can do it. companies stockpiled the stuff before it was made illegal to manufacture. look inside the sight glass on top of the dryer ( i think thats what it is). it is right behind and below the pasanger headlight. it is a small silver cilinder, you will probobly have to clean the glass off. if it is a fog you see in there turning from fog to nothing, then you are very low on refrigerant. if you see bubles, then you are starting to run low. some bubbles are ok, just if you see alot, then that is bad. if the compressor isnt turning on, then you are probobly at fog or maby nothing at all in the system. if there is a leak, its probobly at a seal, they dry out over time and you not using it all winter, the seal probobly just rotted away. oh, and check it all with the a/c on and fan on full power.hope this helps, and good luck fixing it.
