I have a 2002 Pathfinder and I recently removed the intake resonator below the airbox. There was a sensor in the resonator and I left it unplugged. Is this sensor important for the engine to run properly? I am getting horrible MPG and I am wondering if this may be my problem?

Also, I applied locktite to the power valve screws and during the disassembly I removed the MAF connector without disconnecting the battery. Could this have damaged the MAF? Thanks
