I have a '90 240sx with a KA24E and I have a cone filter I was wanting to use on it. I noticed the stock air box has an air charge sensor, and I was wandering if I replaced the box with the filter, what would I have to do with the sensor? Could I leave it off, or will I have to tap it into the intake pipe? Thanks for the help.

No, not the mass air sensor. There is a sensor tht plugs into the actual air box that contains the stock air filter. The box is being removed for a cone filter. I wanna know if I can lose the sensor alll together, or will I need to plug it into the intake pipe somewhere?

I know lots of people on here have cone filters, so what did you do with the air charge sensor on the air box?

It's strange nobody has seen this. I will get a pic of it tomorrow and post it for sure. It is on a single cam KA. I work at an auto parts store and our computer even lists it as having an "air charge sensor" and I have identified it with a picture that this is what that sensor is. I'm assuming it tells the computer the temperature of incoming air. Will get a pic up tomorrow though.

Here is an inside/outside view. It just plugs into the air box right near the MAF. Can it be done away with, or will taking it off mess up the ECU's functioning?

I think it should be fine without it as well. I doubt a '90 computer is sophisticated enough to make big changes according to air temp, but again, not completely sure. Anyone else?

If nobody else has anything, guess I'll just give it a shot. I was just trying to figure it out now while the motor is apart so I could get rid of as many wires as possible.

Incoming air temperature sensor. Just shove it inside the cone. The screen in front of the mafs will stop it from getting sucked in.
