Just wired a new Escort radar detector last weekend and now I seem to have a constant warning light for air bag system. I had to disconnect the overhead console to wire in the detector to the power line on mirror (not the air bag wires).

It seems I read somewhere that if the battery goes dead, is disconnected, or any wires to airbag system is disconnected, the dealer needs to do a reset? Can anyone confirm this is true? I have some other work to do and want to make sure I do the reset only once (wonder how much that will cost).

BTW it is an 07 M35

Hmmm ... the two should not be related. Unless you had some fuse go out or something - might be a coincidence perhaps?

Regardless, please take it to the dealer asap. The airbag is a safety thing that should be looked at asap for sure!

Okay. I would still get the system tested and checked out though. If the reset only cures the symptom (the light on the dash) and not the problem (maybe the air bag might not deploy), that is still an issue!
