I knew airbags were expensive to replace but wow.

My daughter got hit on the left rear quarter panel and bumper on her 07 Honda Pilot and the body damage came to $1700.

The left side and curtain airbag and the side airbag in the driver's seat deployed and they will cost $4300 to replace. Luckly the other person was at fault and their insurance will pay for it all. The curtain air bag goes from the front side window all the way to the back side window by the third row seat.

The other person had Progressive insurance and from the time my daughter gave the local Progressive agent the info he needed it took one hour for them to call and tell her where to take it and that a Nissan Xterra 4WD was waiting at the local Hertz office. Pretty impressive in this day and age.

So be real gentle with those air bags as they or like gold.

Of course they are expensive something that deploys quick enough to save your life but had to deflate quick enough after the crash so you can see and it doesn't get in the way of you escaping the car? Something that uses pyrotechnic charges to inflate a bag and has to be reasonably expected to work years after you got the car? I wouldn't want them to cost 2 bucks haha.
