I think there might be a limit as to how much you can articulate the beam height. I had to recently adjust my HID's as well on my Q as I had changed the suspension to OME Mid-duty springs all around, causing a rake (ie. lower in front, high in rear) significant enough where the beam of the HID's were not high enough to see down the road.
In any case, I did the adjustments in my garage with no regard to measuring beam-height for road-worthy use (ie. didn't care if it was too high for cars I'm behind) as I wanted to raise it all the way up and see how high I can get and then slowly lower it to meet road-worthiness.
Anyway - to get to the point - I raised them to what I though was "max". I used a drill, fitted with a bit and a socket to drive the adjustment screw. I was careful to go slowly so as to not incidently over-drive anything. Using a drill-bit-socket made it easier to figure out which way was up and which way to go down.
So, I kept going up until the beam on the wall stopped rising.
It didn't help all too much... as I said, there's a limit as to how high it can go, and it's not all that much high (esp with the rake on my truck).
