A little over a year ago my QX4 had some damage to the front end and in the repair process, the body shop installed new headlights. Ever since, the right side headlamp is aimed lower than the left, both for high and low beams.

I have tried using the aiming screw to adjust it, but nothing happens, no matter how much I turn it. Is it possible the aiming screw wasn't installed right when the lamps were replaced?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, it's not terrible but it's annoying me!

When i adjusted my HID lights, i noticed that I had to turn the adjust screw a lot just to make a small difference.... like i had to turn each one for 5 minutes by hand, but finally got them adjusted perfect.

Check if all the mounting points of your headlight are still in tact. there are three mounting points, one behind the front grill, one on top near the grill and one on the top on near the fender.

Also your aim adjustment screw might have slipped (its the a gear) so you would have to take the headlight off and adjust it from the back. the screw from the top is a long screw with gear on the end connected to a gear that is connected with the housing of the headlight.

I had to do that because my truck was involved in an accident and whoever fixed it was too cheap to get a new headlight.

I think there might be a limit as to how much you can articulate the beam height. I had to recently adjust my HID's as well on my Q as I had changed the suspension to OME Mid-duty springs all around, causing a rake (ie. lower in front, high in rear) significant enough where the beam of the HID's were not high enough to see down the road.

In any case, I did the adjustments in my garage with no regard to measuring beam-height for road-worthy use (ie. didn't care if it was too high for cars I'm behind) as I wanted to raise it all the way up and see how high I can get and then slowly lower it to meet road-worthiness.

Anyway - to get to the point - I raised them to what I though was "max". I used a drill, fitted with a bit and a socket to drive the adjustment screw. I was careful to go slowly so as to not incidently over-drive anything. Using a drill-bit-socket made it easier to figure out which way was up and which way to go down.
So, I kept going up until the beam on the wall stopped rising.

It didn't help all too much... as I said, there's a limit as to how high it can go, and it's not all that much high (esp with the rake on my truck).
