Welcome to NICO Club!

We have the FSM. That has some images in it. The links go to each chapter. FWD is the foreward with table of contents, so start there... weird, we have two 1995 FSMs! You can figure out which is correct for you.

For rough idle, be sure to check your vacuum lines. People get leaks on the old brake booster line, the EGR line near the firewall and the hoses from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. You can spray carb cleaner in those areas while idling to test for leaks.

MAF can be unplugged, unscrewed and sprayed with CRC MAF cleaner and put back easily.

A new fuel filter can help with fuel pressure issues.

You can check each injector for it's resistance to see if you have a sticky one.

A timing light would be useful to check your timing at the crank pulley.

The IACV can be adjusted with the screw on it's side and that is on the back end of the intake manifold. I'm not sure which is the AIC you refer to and assume it's the generic term for the idle air control valve. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Carbon buildup and crud at the throttle body and EGR can cause issues with idle. They just need to be pulled off, cleaned and returned usually. A new gasket is nice for either task.

Check your battery and grounding cable connections. Those affect idle.

Finally, check the ECU for codes. A bad O2 sensor, TPS, temp or MAF sensor can cause rough idles.

Great response and thanks for the welcome.
My 95 has 118k on it and I bought it in August. it was a one owner. Overall the truck runs great with the exception of the idle issue. When I first start the truck it Idles at about 1500 RPM and will not kick back down. I live in S. Florida and average temps right now around 90. After I shift into gear at stop lights I have normal Idle around 800 RPM s, On occasion puling away from the light it acts like it wants to stall and than kicks back in. When I put it in park it goes back to 1500 RPMs. Going fro D to R it stay at normal idle.
So far I have put in
New plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, air filter
new fuel filter
Most of the vacuum lines. not sure I got them all
cleaned throttle body. I did not remove it but cleaned it in place.
All of this has improved the running of the truck with he exception of the idle issue. I am picking up from the dealer tomorrow the rubber gasket that goes between the top of the throttle body and the bottom of the air cleaner housing. Mine is very brittle and cracked. I am sure that's letting in some un metered air, The AIC I refer to is on the throttle body itself. is that a pull/clean/plug kinda thing too?
Thanks again for the response you have given me other areas to look

Check out the EC & EF chapter starting at page 9 for idle diagnoses and adjustment. It's got a nice step by step and mentions a few of the things I listed above.

On EC & EF chapter at page 2 is a diagram of the engine. It shows a throttle position sensor (TPS) on the throttle body. Is that what you are calling an AIC?
