Greetings all!

New to forum but long time lurker. I recently had to change the water pump on my daughter's 1990 nissan 300zx 2+2. Prior to tearing everything apart it started and ran fine. Got new pump in and put it all together. Now it just cranks bur won't turn over. I'm thinking that I may have knocked the timing off. It's about the only thing I can think of. Dies anyone have any other suggestions? Also is there a way to adjust it without having to totally 'dismantling' the car again? The timing cover was a pain in the a** to get on and off. Thanks in advance.

NF

Have you checked all of the wiring, make sure you haven't disconnected or broken any of the clips, pay special attention to the two on the upper waterpipe as the temp sensor has been known to be a source of headaches for many.

im putting my money on the cas, you didnt mess with the timing belt did you? otherwise knocking out of time is almost impossible. or a ground, i know a long time ago there was a ground i forgot to put back on, was near the fuse box on the drivers side. what all did you tear apart?

Ok first off sorry about the delay in a response but thanks for all the replies. As it turns out I forgot to plug something back in :bang :facepalm2

So it fired up fine now. But....Now there is a rattling behind the upper timing cover on the passenger side. I will ATTEMPT to attach a picture from my phone. But any suggestions?

Thanks again all!

Wow, rattling behind timing cover is a scary thing, best to not drive it, disassemble and check. My money is on loose idler pulley or bad bearing in one of the pulleys which sounds like a small jar of ball bearings being vigorously shaken.
