yea, so i had it running and running pretty damn well for a week. then one day randomly, not even beating on it at the time i notice a ton of smoke commin out the exhaust, pull over, pop the hood, oil and water all around the flange area of my downpipe, so yup turbo seals went..
I ordered up a new stock rb25 turbo just for the time being cuase my goal for this yr was to just get it running right and turn it up to like 12 psi and hope for 300whp, i just finished my swap and besides even just getting used to the car and motor set up i didn;t feel like spending a ton on whole new turbo set up.
anyway with that said im really not sure if theres any reason as to WHY the turbo blew. i did notice a lil bit of shaft play when i swapped the motor in, and there was some oil in the intake pipe so maybe it was just on its way out? i know everything was running fine, had very high oil pressure, the motor didn;t ONCE overheat on me everything was running fine minus running rich, and my coil pack issue at around 5500 rpm which i was just about to fix... The only thing i did besides all the regular bolt ons is i blocked my pcv valve, i had JUST done that prior to the drive when the turbo finally gave out. I have a catch can set up now so the intake cam cover still routes to the exhaust side, then out to the catch can, and then pulling vaccum from the stock intake hose. i blocked and sealed where the stock PCV would be, i highly doubt that this did anything though in relation to the turbo seals going, just a though since it is oil related. IF theres any suggestions i would glady appreciate, i would hate for this to happen again. thanks guys!
