i have a 93 s13 and i am setting up new speakers throughout. i'm adding tweeters and i want to put them in the door panel. my huge issue now is getting a wire through the door jamb...there is barely any room so its impossible to work with. so the questions are as follows..

1. what is the best way to run a wire through the door jamb into the door?

2. can i use the stock amp wires that i used to bypass the amp...there are 2 left not including the ground. this would allow me to splice the unused stock amp wires before it went through the door. utilizing the stock wire i'd avoid having to wire the door jamb at all.

this has drove me insane..it is such a holdup in the progress and my hands are town up hopefully you guys can help. thanks in advance

Getting the wires thru is easy.

Cut a hole in the existing grommet, run the wires outside of the door, then use a straightened coat hangar to poke through the grommet. Tape the wires to the hanger, and pull them through.

Using the stock wires is cheating (and will compromise sound badly).

i wish it was that easy. have you done this on an s13? right now i'm working on the passenger side and there is barely any room to squeeze my hand in to get to the grommet that is on the body of the car. the coathanger keeps bending due to the angle and it is hard to puncture the grommet b/c of the angle also. even once i get the wire through it is hard to get to b/c of all the junk under the dash. i removed the glove box and i can see a bit better but it doesnt help much. any other thoughts or more detail? thanks for the help.

Use an X-acto blade to cut a hole in the grommet, and make sure to remove as much stuff as possible from the footwell area...

That's about the best I can offer - I did my S13 this way.

One way will be to remove the doors (not the easiest...). Then slide the new wiring thru the sleeve and leave plenty of excess before mounting the door back on.

hmmm that may help but the access is much easier on that car. didn't take notice if it was an s14 or what but the grommet on the passenger side on my car is much higher and almost impossible to get to. if i get the coathanger through hopefully i can hook it around the wire. i was previously taping and that wasn't working due to the tight fit.

even using an exacto would be tough as i cant really get the grommet out of the position its in - maybe only an inch out or so.

ill keep trying i think my best bet is to get the coat hanger through then hook the wire and pull...but its tough considering the very limited space.

when i figure out the best way ill post so hopefully someone won't have to go through this.

appreciate all the time guys.
