Haven't seen many people do the Q45-to-240 brake conversion. Is it pretty close to the 300zx swap?
As I understand it the only real difference in the 300ZX swap and the one I did is that you have to have conversion brake lines for the 300ZX brakes. The Stock 240SX lines have banjo bolts on them that will bolt right on to the Q45 brakes with out any modification. The other two factors in my disision where price $70 dollars for the Q45 front calipers VS. $170 and up for the 300ZX Calipers (I know people on here say they can be had for much cheaper but I could not find any such deal.) and also the fact that the 2 Piston Q45 brakes would not be so much more braking power as to make the rear brakes not as effective, also to really do the 300ZX swap you need to swap out the master cyclinder with one from a 300ZX.

Yes you are correct I could have but that would have been $450.00 dollars just for the front hubs. I purchased the entire Front Spindle/Hub assembly for $180.00, the Front Ball Joints for $67.40, the Drill Bit for $15.86 and the labor for the Ball Joints being pressed in $50.00.The Grand Total of $313.26, still cheaper than the 5 Lug Conversion hubs. Those are the only parts required for the swap. I just needed to replace my tie rod ends becuase my old ones had boots that were cracked in half and all the grease was either washed away or dried up. And the bushings for the strut rods were also a required item since my old ones were cracked and oozing. And while I didn't need to replace them I figured while I had them out and for $11.00 dollars who wouldn't want fancy shmancy NISMO Control arm bushings. So in conclusion if I had gone with the $450.00 dollar conversion hubs my total would be those, plus the Strut Rod Bushings,Tie Rod Ends,Grease and Greas Gun for Tie Rod Ends, NISMO Control Arm Bushings, and $100.00 dollars labor for pressing those itmes in. Grand Total of $711.51
