I HAVE NO IDEA!! THATS PRETTY MUCH THE WAY ITS BEEN WITH MY CAR SINCE I GOT IT BACK IN JULY '97 WITH 39k MILES ON IT. Only have 118K on it now and I baby it compared to most people that have these cars. The thing is as clean as some 3yr old cars if I might say. But Ive had problems with it since Ive gotten it. The roads here are bad but I drive it mainly to work and thats it. The factory ones lasted maybe 42K or so before the first one started making noise. I replaced them with AGX's at the end of 2002 (maybe 68K) then they started going in end of '05 (94K). Replaced them with GR2's thinkin theyd last longer and they started going in 9 months. I don't want to lower it so I assume I cannot put on coilovers and I do not want to spend much. I'll get warranty from the GR2's. I can get the Monroes for $80 less than the AGX's and will be able to get refund on them in the future without having to pay to ship them back unlike the AGX's which I would get from tirerack. Again my head is spinning!!!!carkook wrote:Honestly, If your going to be spending money get coilovers. If you find the right price and its really cheap get agx's. I got agx's and springs that were cut for 200 (all four). IMO for the price they are great.
I commute this thing 100 miles a day over some not so 240 friendly freeways. 11,000 miles so far not counting the previous owner and these things are still not blown. I wana know how you got them to blow, I mean im on cut springs and dont pay attention to pot holes half the time, these things can take a beating.
Did you look at my user name???? '95SE. I have an S14 not S13.tEknoS13 wrote:Monroe's are good and I would recommend them to anyone, for a TRUCK!I have them on both my Jeep and Explorer and they are great.
AGX are good stuff. Great to have on a 240 especially on shi**ty roads like here in Chicago.
BTW: I happen to have a NEW set of AGX's and New set of Tein Type S springs for s13. Let me know if you're interested.
Wouldn't lowering it cause the struts/shocks to blow sooner on rough roads?? Plus, I don't want to lower it because I'll screw up the front spoiler more than I already have. I try to keep my car clean as possible.brizanden wrote:yeah look around for some slightly used agx's with lowering springs for around 200 -250 bucks or so. I dont know of any people that have tried the monroes. You could and let us all know. they couldnt be too terrible but then again monroe suspension s*** like rod wise is terrible compared to oem when it comes to imports.
Don't coilovers usually start at $800 for a new set. Can they be used on stock ride height and do they have lifetime warranty?wynnEZ wrote:Buy coilovers and not have to worry about it.
wow I completely failed at looking at your sig95se wrote:

I want something with LIFETIME WARRANTY that doesn't blow in less than 3 f***in years with stock springs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My parents Honda Odyssey has gotten 80K+ out of the factory struts on the same freekin roads!!
If you look on the classifieds you can find a decent set of Ksports for around 600, and they will fit just fine. Plus they are rebuildable.95se wrote:

WHY can't I have this luck!!!!jeff420 wrote:ive got about 30k on my agx and tien spring setup and i grabbed that out of a junkyard so no telling how many miles are on them and they are still fine. i have them set on the hardest setting front and rear and i drive over some pretty rough roads..
agxs are designed for lowering springs. stock ones probably put too much stress on them95se wrote:Im

Well I had AGX's then I went to the GR2s thinkin they last longer but the AGXs felt smoother and lasted 20K miles as opposed to the GR2's that started going in 9 months (probably less than 8K miles).brizanden wrote:agxs are designed for lowering springs. stock ones probably put too much stress on them
