Im just gonna post all my car problems in one thread. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6/9/10 --- Yay Another Problem.

Wasup Nico, Im Back Again.... guess what? SUMMER Engine Problems.

Summary: My Engine Sounds Like A 2 Stroke, I Dont Know What Went Wrong This Time, And Im Stumped Yet Again.

Problem: The Motor Shakes As If It's Gonna Stall, And Vibrates The Whole Car Now. Im Wondering If Its Another Fuel/Electrical Problem.
2k-2.5k Sounds Fine, But At Any Other Revv I Feel It Loosing Power.

Story: I Drove To The Waterfront Out Here And Parked It. About An Hour Later When I Was Going To Leave, I Started It, And It Sounded Like A Mustang, And My Whole Car Was Vibrating. I Didnt Know What Had Happened So I Restarted It A Few Times Thinkin It Might Solve The Problem, But To No Avail. I Drove Home And When It Was At 2k-2.5k It Sounded Normal, And No Vibrations. But Other Than That, It Sounded Like A Motorcycle. A Really, Really Loud Obnoxious Sound. I Parked It And Havent Touched It Since Friday.

Any Helpp? :frown: I Really Dont KNow Where To Start Diagnosing It This Time.

THANK YOU!!!

-----------------------------------------------------
11/10/09 -------------Back again with another problem......

Short story: Car would not rev past 2k, engine bogged and shook and died, now car doesnt fire at all, just cranks and nothing...

Long story:Woke up and was getting out of the driveway and as soon as i took off and hit second gear, car starts dieing.... i shift up and same thing. >:| i pull over and check the engine, revvs fine not in gear, but starts messing up if i put it in gear and rev past 2k ... ugh, i eventually got to school and said forget it. Afterschool when i was driving on the main road home, it started doing the same thing, bogging, and feels like no power... so i just make it home and let it rest. Later, when i was helpin a friend with his car, i go to homedepot and i was coming back when my car starts bogging again... si i give it more gas and it starts misfiring and the motor shakes the whole car... i put on my four-ways and check to see anything. nada..... we ended up pushing it to my house.

Trouble shooting:Replaced spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, checked vacuum lines, swapped my intake back to stock, cleaned MAF, and checked batt voltage 12.4V.

Q: whats the problem now? Clutch? fuel injectors? or something electrical?

7/28/09 ----------EDIT: Fixed

Long Version:Went to go start the car today like usual. Turned key while pushing killswitch (neutral saftey switch repositioned under steering wheel) and no crank. Puzzled, i messed with the killswitch and tried and failed numerous times. I took off the bottom part of the dash( where the kill switch was) and spliced together the wires for the switch thinking it was the problem. Turned key, nothing... I then checked battery, good 12.4 V. I swapped in my other ignition relay, tried starting: nothing. I took off the steering column plastic and tried to find a short, but all were good. I then checked to see if my starter was getting power, it wasnt. so im confused on what else it could be, either my ignition or my starter.... any other suggestions i should do?

Short Version:I couldnt start my car today, Battery is good:12.4v, Ignition relay is good: swapped in another one to make sure. My starter isnt getting power when i turn the switch. im thinking ignition? help plz!?

start beating the starter..UNLESS - BATTERY IS UNPLUG, DON'T USE METAL, IT WILL CAUSE A SPARK AND CHANCES IT WILL FLAME UP+ ITS NEXT TO FUEL LINE+BAD IDEA USING METAL TO BEAT STARTER

Did you check your fuses and relays? Sounds like the main 75A fuse went out...

*edit* posted right after you said that...

If you pull off the top plastic piece on the top of the steering column the ignition wire solders will be out in the open. Easy to test...

Same goddamn f***ing problem I have.

If it's not the relay, starter, battery, or alternator, it's the clutch switch or the ignition.

I just ordered a new ignition, just the electronic part (not where the key goes).

Or in your case, it could be the clutch switch. Look under your dash up to where the clutch is. There should be a button type thing where the clutch makes contact. Check that.

i think its ignition, i bypassed the clutch switch as stated above, and used it for a killswitch. lol. What part did you order for your ignition? i might have the same faulty part.

How's the engine ground looking from the starter? Is it all corroded and stuff?

12.4 is a little low, it should be at 12.8 FYI...

I just made a switch from the battery to the signal wire of the starter. i think the problem is the control module on the ignition coil. i checked the ignition solders in the steering column, they are all good. so that narrows it down (and back to) that ignition control module.

And its at 12.6v now. i guess the amp i have kinda drained it to 12.4v haha.

This thing on the ignition coil:

First, check the computer codes to see if it is in limp mode. This could mean several things, but if it is not:

If the engine is shaking, check the injectors by pulling off the plug of each one. It would be best to check #1 and #4 first since they are the likely candidates for making a KA engine shake. When you find the one that doesn't affect the way the motor runs, then you have found the problem.

Re-attach the plug and jiggle the wires around a bit, you may simply have a intermittent connection.

Have you checked the neutral safety switch?

That's what my problem ended up being.

Depending on fuel not getting to the engine, if its not the injectors, maybe its the whole fuel pump.

I did, the unplugging of the injectors didnt do nuthing. it just leads me to believe the injectors are bad still. also after i try to crank it over, i get this smell of fuel around the intake, like its the fuel pump or injectors.... Im very incoherent at the moment because of all the trouble shooting and lack of food.

possibly too much fuel? check resistance on those injectors, im almost positive resistance(ohms) needs to be between 14 and 18 ohms, but dont quote me. resistance too low and bam that engine isnt going to be able to properly perform. check oil for fuel, for all u know u could be dumping massive amnts of fuel into your cylinders only to have it drain down into the oil pan.

this happened to me except i checked it too late and my engine would turn once and then it sounded like the lower half of my motor was about to explode. after finding out that this was the prob, i prob drained 2 gallons of fuel and oil out of that engine, but after letting it sit open and dry for a couple days, with new oil it ran like it did before the issue. hope this helps!

the resistance is sopposed to be 11ohms, just searched it. Mine were between 11.0ohms - 11.2ohms so i think im in the clear... im wondering if its something with my fuel lines, or fuel delivery. How can i check my fuel pressure? im about to give in and buy a circuit sports FPR with the gauge.
