Hey guys,

Car: 2000 Nissan Altima GXE / Stock KA24DE / ~109,xxx miles

Did some searching and I haven't been able to find anything on this issue. If I missed a post somewhere that contains this info please send me the link! Got the intake manifold gasket replaced successfully along with the PCV valve and the rubber seals between the fuel rail and intake manifold.

Problem 1: After getting this all done still having some issues when the clutch is pushed in while driving. Idle seems to jump around a bit. From reading around the forums it seems it could be the IACV valve?

Problem 2: When stopping at a light or stop sign (basically when idling and not moving) with the interior fans on (heater/AC). There is a strong exhaust smell. Now if I turn the interior fans off (obviously) the smell doesn't come into the car. I've looked (smelled) for the leak but I've had no luck at pin-pointing it.

Thanks

Im pretty sure the exhaust smell would come from the exhaust header gasket leaking. thats the most likely place.

Exhaust manifolds are a common problem on both first and second gen. They like to crack. The IACV would seem a likely candidate for your idle issue.
