I've been doing some searching and it looks like the stock Y-pipe is pretty restrictive. I read that Stillen claims 5hp from just changing the stock Y-pipe. My question is, is there anyone here running an aftermarket y-pipe with stock b-pipe and muffler?? If so, tell me about your experience (sound, gains). I've searched all over and havn't found much info on this. I know that the closer a restriction is to the engine, the more impact it has on performance. Since our muffler is so far away, changing it doesn't do much. I'm just itching to do something to my '07, it is just too quiet......

Not sure on the Y pipe, but I have only switched out the exhaust, and after weeks of research, went with the Greddy SP2. It sounds and looks great. My only problem is I can't get my Megan Test Pipes on !! Go to Streetfire.com for video clips on 350Z exhaust.

Well, I went with the NISMO exhaust all the way back. I can tell you that if you're gonna do the y-pipe, you might as well as do the entire exhaust. With the NISMO exhaust, the car sounds so much better than stock. I love the sound because it's quiet, but has that low throaty rumble sound that these cars are popular for. As for performance gain, it's a small gain in hp but a small gain is better than no gain

Yeah, I see what you are saying mr sniffles. I like the sound of the Nismo exhaust, but, the gains aren't very good and I have a hard time spending $900 for 6hp. Right now, I'm thinking about Tanabe exhaust or fujutsubo, but, my favorite so far is the Greddy SP2. If I got the SP2, I'd probably get the Japtrix y and b pipe to go with it. Just not sure yet, this thing is just too darn quiet!

it is .net not .com. I have looked at all of those, I can't find one that is stock cat-back with an aftermarket y-pipe. Anyway, I think I might go with the Tanabe cat-back, I like the way it sounds. I also like the Greddy SP2, but, it's just an axle-back, probably not much HP to be had with that, but, it sounds really good.
