Ok ive searched but i haven't come up with anything. What my question is is if i can remove the temp sensor that connects to the stock temp gauge and install the aftermarket one in its place. If i do this will there be any problems? Just so yal know im talking about the smaller sensor next to the red temp sensor.

Wouldn't be any issues, the one on the right closest to the engine only goes to the cluster gauge, its the other one that goes to the ECU that you wouldn't want to remove.

Though I'd just say run an extra temp sensor, keeping the stock one as a back up.

im installing a temp gauge in my center vent and am looking for this info aswell. Biggie what is the temp sensor on the right close to? anything? distributor etc? where is the other temp sensor that the ecu uses? I would like to leave both in as you recommended if possible, any idea the best way to do this?

Found a pic someone has. ECU sensor has 2 wires, the gauge sensor just has 1 wire.

For the aftermarket temp sensor, most people get an adapter to cut their rad hoses and put the adapter in and put the sensor in there. Or I believe there may be adapters that put a spacer/adapter between the 'neck' on the top rad hose at the engine.

Here is mine using an adapter for the hose. I actually used the OEM one from the SOHC lower rad hose and just tapped it for NPT. But places do make an adapter (like SPL I believe).
