My stock Temperature gauge died on me. I think the wired or sensor is dead. My question is, can I buy say a Autometer Temp gauge to replace it? (do they even make aftermarket Temperature guages? Also, What does the Stock Temperature read? transmission temperatures? what?)

Which would be cheaper to do? Fix the stock dead one, or aftermarket?

the stock temp gauge is pretty worthless anyway. remember you'll need a pipe somewhere to put the new sensor for the new gauge.

The stock tempurature gauge is a dummy gauge. when the temp gets to a certain range it goes half way up the scale, when it moves out of that range it moves up to H, and is likely already overheated.

You could try just replacing the temp sensor, thats probably the problem. Personally, my rb20 runs hot so I dont trust the stock gauge, I went with the Greddy temp gauge.

If your motors stock and doesnt over heat much, just try replacing the sensor, there not expensive or hard to replace.

Engine coolant temp/radiator fluid temp, not transmission.
