Hey guys......just wondering what sort of tachos you are running with the CA18?I know there is a wire coming from the ECU for the tacho drive.......but wasnt the silvia a electronic dash?.....and being the fact it has 4 coils.....Im assuming a normal tacho that runs from the distributor wouldn't work?

cheers

tachs operate off the #1 cylinder trigger event so the number of coils doesn't matter. Do you need to know the wire?

but if you take the trigger from only 1 coil.....it will only be triggered once for every cycle.as opposed to the single coil method of hooking the tach up to the -ve terminal of the coil......so it's recieving 4 triggers per cycle.......

one wire. That should be it. As Hank said, I think it's the yellow w/ a red stripe.
