I know this can be done, but my question is just simply that I am not sure what i would need to hook up the amp to the stock stereo, or are we lucky and our stock stereo comes with RCA outputs? (once again, incase you missed it, my question was, what would i need to hook up an aftermarket sub/ and amp to the stock stereo?)

if anyone could help me with this that would be awesome, thanks alot!

You need to get a HILO adapter, it's a type of line output converter that takes the lower frequencies from the signal of one of the speakers in the existing system. If you can find an amp with speaker level inputs, then that will work the same way.

If you are just adding a Sub and Amp a Hi-Lo converter will work fine. If you are going to add a front end amp and door speakers I would use a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty or a JL Audio Clean Sweep. They are quite a bit more $$$ (in the $300 range too a Hi-Lo that can be as cheap as $20) that a Hi-Lo but if you are dead set on leaving the factory radio and want premium sound they are the only way to go. I have the Rockford Fosgate 3 Sixty and it made my system sound outstanding.

How hard was the RF 360 install in the Versa? Is it easy to tune for a novice to audio? I am thinking about a simple 4 channel amp to run a component set inthe front and mid-basses in the rear doors. Also a mono amp and a sub. I have a test set-up I made at work, I used a Ipod and split the headphone out to the stock radio and then to a RCA converter to a amp. I put my current sub in the car and it sounded great. My $30 8" sub gets real loud in the Versa. I am thinking about putting my friends 18" in there next week just for fun.

The 3Sixty is harder to install than it is to tune. I was in the audio bizz for many years, I acctually worked for Rockford for a few years so for me the .2 version was simple, but I would not recomend it for a novice. The .1 version tunes itself so I would say yes and no. I posted the entire wire code for the versa earlier today, and with that the .1 will be a breeze to install.

My audio video system is simple but it pounds! (2) sets of Rockford FOsgate Power 51/4 coax and one of the RF T1 tens with 2 RF punch amps and a Visual Logic overhead 7" LCD monitor w DVD and it all runs thru the RF 3Sixty.2 ....... And I have left the base model factory radio im my car......

Once again, thanks for the info. I think I will go with the .1 and new amps and speakers. I also will be leaving the stock head unit. i think it's nice to operate and looks good. I have never liked the way aftermarket head units look in newer cars. They are just never "right" looking to me.
