ok, i finally got my eclipse cd3000, along with my wire harness and my Scosche OEA-4 adapter. i got it all wired up. but... from how it seems, the lights are always on(for the radio). the ones that should only light up when the internal light switch is turned on. now... heres my question, something im pondering about. on here it shows that the illumination is letter c on that plug, that wire is solid orange on my harness that purchased, but... right below it, is letter I, which is illumination control. on the wire harness i bought, it doesnt have a wire for letter I, but it does have it for letter C. should i remove the wire for letter C and put it into the place for letter I??? in my eclipse wiring manual it says the orange/white wire for the radio is the "Illumination power supply" coming from the radio, that is the only orangeish wire anyways. now, could "illumination power supply" also mean Illumination control?? i dont wanna do this, then end up frying my stereo or shorting it out or anything. any help on this would be greatly greatly appreciated.

umm.... anyone know where i can buy a spare set of radio brackets for a '95 j30?? mine are ok, but they are really bent to hell.

it sounds excellent. just had to adjust those gain levels just right, but its really great.

hey, before hooking up wires to wrong places try just disconecting the wires from the harness. the only wires that are actually needed to turn on the radio from the schoche harness is the red,yellow(+ volt to the battery) and the black (- ground to the battery). if you think you have found the ilumination wire from the head unit (orange on the schoche) first try to touch it to -ground that is in case it requires gound to light and you wont fry anyting that way. if that dosnt turn on the illumination to the headunit then connect it to the + volt and see how the lights work that is alittle more riskey but all headunits etheir require + or - to turn on the lights so to be safe make sure you test the - side first before you try aplieing any +. thats how you can find the head unit. out of the car turn off then on the lights and use a voltmeter or test light to find out which wire from the car(orange schoche wire) works and if it supplys voltage or supplies a ground-. anyway good luck and if you follow this you should have no problems

Thats funny, im in the same position. Just installed a new deck with the schosche harness, and today I got a Diamond Audio 12" sub with a ported enclosure....just havent decided on an amp.

as i do like ported boxes i just dont like the loss of truck space this is what i did instead i add i alpine type X 10" which only takes external dimensions 12"x12"x11" with 3/4" MDF and was able to put it on the right side of the trunk then i just made a cosmetic cover to clean it up sounds great and saves room to still use the trunk
