Hi my name is Damian and I have been a member for a while but first post. I own a 2007 Versa S. I have a ? pertaining to the after market setup of a cd player. I have bought the wire harness as well as the antennae adapter. I am trying to run subs as well as the after market cd player.

My issue that I am havening is the only way to get the radio to work with the adapter is to connect the blue wire to my remote wire(amp is hooked up to this wire as well). When i do this my amp onky comes on when the radio is on. If anything I would prefer the cd player to run the amp, if I had to choose. Is there a way around this issue or is the a design by Nissan to stop people like me of running a system? I hope all of this made sense

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

Thanks Damian

The problem is, you hooked the sub remote turn on wire, to your power antenna wire. You need to hook the amp up to the Blue/White, OR the Red. Either wire will work.

Thanks again in advance!

I assume the blue/white is the accessory wire, which is what the amp needs to be hooked up to. Yeah, you don't want to go to the perm power (red).

Looking on some other forum boards it states that the yellow is the constant power wire and the red is the ignition wire. If that is the case then I should be okay to connect to the red wire then if need be???

ok... your wiring harness SHOULD have a blue wire, and a blue and white wire... if i understand what your saying, when you turn on the AM/FM the amp comes on, but goes off when you put it on a different input. If thats the case, you just mixed up the two wires. One of the wires, i believe is the all blue one, should have a sticker or something that says "Remote" and the other should says "Power Antenna"... connect the blue wire from the antenna adapter to the one labeled "Power Antenna"... and the blue remote wire from your amp to your "Remote" wire... if for some reason you do not have both wires, connect the wire from your AMP to a power source thats on when your turn the key (or the yellow "ACC" wire to your headunit). make sure its a location that turns off when you take out the key, or else your amp will be constantly on, which in turn killing your battery... and eventually your amp. I think thats what your looking for, but let me know if i'm wrong.

That exactly what i am saying... I am a little confused because the only wires that were labeled were the speaker wires. Minus the speaker wires i have the following:

red-powerblack-groundyellow- ??blue-????blue/white striped-??????orange-dimmerbrown-mute

I currently have the blue wire hooked up to my antennae wire and also the remote wire from the amp.... So from what everyone is saying I should probably hook up the amp remote wire t the blue/white striped wire....??

Thanks again you have all been a HUGE help!

red-power (this is on all the time for your radio memory)black-ground yellow- acc (this should only have power when your key in turned on)blue-remote (for an accessory like an amp)blue/white striped- pwr antenna (this should only have power when the FM/AM setting is used. When you play the CD or other function it should turn off. If you had a car with a power antenna, it would turn power to the antenna on for the radio reception)orange-dimmerbrown-mute

Hope this helps. I did stereo install about 14 years ago for Circuit City.(may they rest in peace...)

exactly. if you have both wires hooked up and the amp only turns on with the FM/AM... put the remote wire to the other blue (& white) wire.

Thanx to all that replied..... The yellow on a Scoche wire harness is the constant power where as the red is actually the acc wire. The blue and white striped wire is the one u want to use for an amp remote wire....lol

Wrong on 2 accounts.

Yellow is Constant for memory, and Red is Ign. Blue is Power Ant wire(only has 12V during AM/FM use), Blu/white is Remote turn on(Amp turn on wire)
