Finally got my Boss (not Bose) touch screen unit installed after 3/4 days of agony not understanding the new way to connect amp/Bose type versus regular base speakers.

After a few no sound issues, finally got sound. It's sounding great. Except when I'm driving. I've looked up YouTube vids about re wiring and filters. I don't want to get too technical...but just want to see what other guys are using to quiet the sound.

My other car makes this noise sometimes also but mainly on AUX. but this setup is interrupting my CD play also. Should I get 1 filter or 2? Is the Metra Amazon harness good or is it too cheap for this type of system? I also grounded to the radio brackets. Should I have grounded it more on the chassis bolts itself?

The last time I messed with a BOSE system, it was in a 5.5 gen Maxima. I didn't find it too tricky as I was able to get sound, lighting and equalization etc immediately. I used a Metra harness (or Scosche) as you could buy those from Walmart or Bestbuy. The same harness worked for all my previous Nissans so at some point I just picked some up from the junkyard.
I used the ASWC for steering wheel controls.

IIRC, I always grounded on the metal parts of the dashboard framework behind the headunit with no issues.

When I had "electric noise" on AUX, I found it to be finicky AUX cords and I just kept buying new ones as I had found no cable to last very long

If unsure, I'd check out some Maxima writeups for the latest and greatest info on the system... or an audio pro.

Isn't ground provided through the harness? If so, I would try using it.

That's what I was wondering too. But there's also a ground wire coming out of the radio itself. I took that and hook it to the metal bracket. But if the ground is in the harness, do I know use that? In my experience it won't turn on unless it's grounded to a metal part somewhere.

If you can post a link to the installation manual for your Boss head unit, I could look at it and see if I have any ideas. I did a little bit of searching, but didn't find much... I'm assuming you're hearing a high pitched whine that changes with engine speed?

I couldn't explain it either, but the factory harness never seemed to ground aftermarket units like OEM systems.
