Does anybody have a website, or links to a good how-to on installing a system on an Infiniti G35 coupe? I'm looking for ideas for my '05, and it would help if there was a cheat sheet for taking off the panels, routing wires through the FW, amp location ect...I've done a complete system before, but I really knew the car inside/out. Thanks!

Might want to hit up our G35 forum too. This audio forum doesnt see too much traffic as often as the other ones do.

No problema. I really liked that guy's amp rack with the crossovers and amp mounted against the back seat.

Writing up a how-to would be very cool too. You can submit it to our tech article/how-to/diy contest and may have it published for the world to see.

Have fun!

ARe you looking to do a full system, or just speakers?

I'd recommend that you upgrade just the speakers to begin with

Please don't tell me that you suggest using aftermarket speakers with a factory bose system. I agree the speakers are most important part of a system, but it must be complete and matched, something nearly impossible to do with factory "blows" (no highs, no lows, must be bose thxs to their EQ).

If I replace the speakers, I would do the complete system. (head deck, amps, speakers, subs) not sure I want to spend that much...which is why I was looking into a setup that uses all the factory stuff, but adding a subwoofer/amp for the low end.

I completely support changing only the speakers. The bose system is usually amplified around 50hz and 12khz.

These bose speakers are not all 4 ohm drivers, they are mostly 2, except the tweeters. Using factory bose amps, and aftermarket speakers will reduce overall output. Even if the speakers themselves add some clarity. This will lead to the operator increasing volume to compensate, possibly to the point of inducing a clipped signal from the amplifier, and causing damage to the new speakers, and or eventually the factory amplifiers. I've seen it happen too many times. Most of my customers understand the logic behind this and take my advice. They don't like to waste time and money experimenting to get a good sounding system, from a mixed bag of equipment and leftovers. They usually have done this at some time in the past with other vehicles that they have owned and learned from those "systems". You will find, as they have It is better to go with all new, properly matched system and do it all at once for the best results.

I feel it is best just to completely replace the system, besides that way if you ever want to sell the car you can revert to the OEM system without having damaged equipment to reinstall or replace first.

It's a shame really...Bose home stuff sounds excellent. I have a set of 701s and 301s with a XLi Polk center and Polk 500 sub. Totally rocks!!! I only wish their car stuff sounded half as good. But the company seems to be headed downhill, with the discontinuation of the 701 loudspeaker. They have a hard-on for the satellite/subwoofer setups...
