aftermarket stereo head unit question!

ok, so i got a parasitic drain.

i have a question, I didnt use harnesses and just rigged up the wires together from the oem wiring of the original radio to my aftermarket pioneer system, so does the system connect to the ignition? or directly to the battery?

i want to make sure my cd player is actually TURNED off meaning no electricity running through it whatsoever, so i want to make sure if i used the stock wiring if it goes to the ignition or my battery.

should have used a harness.

But, yes connect the wire marked IGN to a wire coming from the ignition switch. And connect the wire marked BATT to a wire that has constant power hence the word BATTery, this retains your memory for the clock and presets.
