*steering wheel hub (hkb is cheap and works very well)*aftermarket steering wheel (make sure it the hole pattern coincides with hub. Nardi, Nismo, Personal, and a few others are 6 hole, Sparco and a few others are 5hole, iirc)*steering wheel puller *screw driver *quick release (it will go between the hub and wheel. also make sure your QR hole pattern coincides as well)

I think 6? another pointer you should keep in mind is that when your doing it, make sure your steering wheel is straight.

I bought an NRG version 2.5 quick release and short hub from Jung918 on this forum. Great seller and he cuts deals to anyone who buys more than 1 item. I put them on about a month ago - both are quality parts and the install was pretty simple.

If you want a decent, cheap wheel, Momo Marine wheels can be had for about $50 on Ebay. Yeah, they are for boats, but they supposedly are pretty nice and would work well for verts. Momo is a 6-bolt hub. Used Momo car steering wheels can be had on Ebay pretty cheaply too.

Another good value in wheels is Italvolanti. It's a really high quality brand that is relatively unknown in the US. I bought one used for pennies on the dollar. The one I have (Imola RS) has a Momo bolt pattern.

Note: You will lose your cruise control unless you rewire it.

1. NRG's are awesome. Cheap and the get the the job done. I need one asap!

2. Adrian - what's a steering wheel puller?

3. DonMecca - I'm runnin a momo wheel, dished (make sure you get dished...cuz its pimptastic!) and yes, it is 6 hole (like ish says). With an HKB hub. All I had was a screwdriver and a rachet+big *** socket (I forget size).

(oh, is my term for "big *** socket" = what you mean by "wheel puller"?)

Wheel puller is kind of like a pulley puller. It threads into the steering wheel and there is a giant bolt that you thread in to slowly pull the wheel off.

I didn't need it, I just unscrewed the nut holding the steering wheel on until it was almost off, then pulled on the steering wheel. That way it doesn't hit you in the face.

its this simple tool where you screw 2 screws into the oem steering wheel from the front, then theres this big screw in the middle that you tighten (the big screw goes in toward the wheel) so that it slowly, but surely pulls out the steering wheel. It saves you from sh*tting your pants when your trying to manually pull it out. I have one if anyone wants to borrow it... just pay for shipping and I'll send it to you (and of course insurance incase I don't get it back).

dont need a mechanic or a puller.

plastic clips just hold the horn cover on. pull at it to remove it.take a 19mm socket and loosen the single nut, but dont remove it all the way.now just pull and wiggle the steering wheel until it's loos. then remove the nut to remove the wheel.

attach hub in place of stock wheel with the same bolt, then attach your steering wheel to the hub with the screws/ provided with your wheel.

He says the problem is that the momo did not come with screws. i tried to order screws for the NRG hub but he said they were too short. I was wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction so that i can get the right lenght screws.

To get your cruise control to work with an after market steering wheel you can follow this thread: zerothread?id=271500 . I think a few guys here on the vert forum have done this mod. Hope this helps.
