trying to install aftermarket speakers in the doorsI am trying to replace the stock front speakers with some pioneers of the same size. They fit in perfectly but in my car i have the in-door amps. The amps with my head unit and i don't want to bypass them. The old speakers just sound like hell. Here is my problem:
The plug that goes to the speakers has five wires total. The new speakers have standard + and - terminals.HOW DO I WIRE UP MY NEW SPEAKERS WITHOUT BYPASSING THE STOCK AMP?
fyi: i did search the forum for this and the only i can find is info on putting a different size speaker in the door. No mention of the actual wiring other than this quote.
It seems like two of the wires are in fact for the speakers. Two for the antenna. What is the fifth one for? and how can i tell the difference between them? Thanks in advance to anybody who has gone through this BS.240Knightrider wrote:ok, i installed new speakers in my front doors. I believe the amp has been disconnected because I have five spliced wires hanging out.. I know two wires connect the speaker and they work...but my antenna doesnt work and I cant figure this out. there are three wires left. Does anyone know how to wire it to make my antenna work again. When I connected two of the other wires the antenna worked but it look right to me. Thanks in advance
