Just wondering... how difficult is it to install aftermarket seats and what kind of labor does it entail. Is it all bolts or does it usually require some welding and fabrication?

You will need seat brackets to mount your aftermarket seats into the Z. Universal stuff won't work, you'll need something vehicle specific. For example I have Wedge Engineering brackets that I use with my Sparco seats. Once you have the proper brackets, its a matter of 4 bolts.

also depends on the seats, stay away from the sidemount type, it doesn't take an engineering degree to make your own adapters

I am trying to install a set of two Momo seats into my 1990 2 Seater Z. I checked nout Wedge but dont want to spend that much. The original power seats are broken, and dont work (thats why i cant fit in the car, being 6'4"). Im somewhat of a nube when it comes to welding, but have a couple friends who can. What would they need to do to get the seat in place? Is there any way to make it manually go back and forth? Any input would be appreciated.

hey el nizmo i just put 2 momo speed 2 seats in my 1990 2 seater with vehicle specific brackets i found specifically for the 1990 300zx 2 seater and for the momo seats. i think i got them from ltbmotorsports.com?? im not sure but check around for brackets that are for momo seats as well as the 1990 300zx. the seats and brackets went in with no problem... the factory bolts and then i had to go to home depot to get 4 bolts so the seats could bolt to the brackets. took about an hour to do both seats.
