The aftermarket Rim/Tire combination that I am running at the moment on my 1994 Infiniti Q45 is

RIMS...................................................TIRES

Advanti Racing (Viper Integral A2)......Michelin Pilot SportFront - 17" X 7....................................Front 225/50ZR17Rear - 17" X 7....................................REAR 225/50ZR17

I am planning to change these to

RIMS..................................................TIRES

Advanti Racing (Viper Integral A2).....Pirelli P-Zero Giallo Front - 18" X 8...................................Front 235/40ZR18Rear - 18" X 8...................................Rear 255/35ZR18

I really wanted 19" rims, but Advanti don't make a 19" Rim in this style.

I also wanted 275 tires on the rear, but Advanti dont make a 18" X 9 rim, so I can only go to a 255 on this style of rim (18 X 8).

Rim/Tire combinations are not my strong point, so my question is to members if this tire rim combination makes sense, but most importantly will it fit a 1994 Q45.

I am chasing REALLY wide tires for the rear, with a slightly smaller rolling tire diameter than my existing tire/rim combination, to further improve acceleration from a standing start.

What is the widest tires that anyone has fitted to a 90 - 96 Q45?

Also, I don't want wide tires on the front so that I can still get full lock on the power steering without rubbing the body and putting extra strain on the power steering.

Regards

255/50/16's fit with no problems, even on some "lowered" (1") Q's. You shouldn't have a problem with the width in front.

Also, it's not necessary to go to a 9" rim for those widths. I (and many other members) have 255's on a 7" wide rim and they seat beautifully. I'd think the 275's would fit quite nicely on the 18x8's.

I'd try the 255/40 in the front and the 275/35 in the rear. What a steamroller THAT would be!!!
