Metra is usually the first to offer dash kits.goldeneye wrote:Any supplier or company I can watch for a dash kit to come out ?

I'm interested in that back-up camera/NAV unit too ... by the way, don't you mean "Rogue" Man?Rogue Man wrote:I plan on getting rid of the Bose stock head unit aswell and am wondering if the Pioneer AVIC D3 will fit? or will we have to get a kit for it?

Really? the installation part seems tough? ill just take it to drive in autosound and they should be able to hook it up no problem. The thing that worries me though is the back up camera and if its required to be drilled for installation.goldeneye wrote:The AVIC-D3, that is exactly the multimedia unit I was looking into. Multiformat, NAV and rear camera. The installation seems very involved thought.
I have just received my dash kit today. I'm so happy to see it in person, it actually made the grainy texture to match our dash's. 200% satisfaction for Metraonline's products.philipa_240sx wrote:For anyone doing aftermarket stereo installs or any mod to thier Rogue:
Please detail your install and take photos. We can then start a seperate thread and add it to the FAQ sticky. This would be a great resource for all Rogue owners contemplating the same types of mods.
Nice, let me know if you run into any problems at all.Leo2005 wrote:PCY. I'm going to install avic-d3x today. I got my kit yesterday too.
Hey, you may not want to disassemble your speedometer for the speed signal, it's CAN Bus controlled, your signal may not even come from one single wire, probly a pair of Tx and Rx wire is there to get speedo working they are digially pulsed and decoded to move the speedo needles. But I may be wrong, and please let me know, I'm very curious about it.Leo2005 wrote:I connected the system but didn't connect the speed sensor yet. Will continue tomorrow to disassemble speedometer. But the system is a lot louder and sounds very clear compare to original. I love it.
I have that same exact wiring harness, it's actually made for regular aftermarket radio conversions. It didn't pin in enough wires for GPS installations. It's a half-azz product the way I see it.jklph wrote:did you use a wiring harness? if so, is this the right one:http://retailer.installationex...=9520
how about an antenna adapter?http://retailer.installationex...=9531
Oh I didn't look much into the antenna plug, yet. I bought my AVIC with XM tuner, so radio pluggin wasn't part of my research. However, when I start my installation, I'll find out how to deal with all that.jklph wrote:Thanks, PCY. I think I will skip the connection to the VSS and just go by with straight connection using the wiring harness.
what about the antenna? does the factory came with regular plug for the antenna or do i need to get this antenna adapter?

thanks in advance.
Leo, if you don't have the BOSE system, then you're the same as me. You shouldn't have to disconnect or undo your speedometer at all. Your speed signal is also in the audio main harness, same location. If you look directly into it, it's at the bottom right, a blue wire. Hope this helps.Leo2005 wrote:I had to disconnect the speedometer because I don't have the bose system. For some reason Crutchfield shipped me the wrong antenna adapter and I decided just to modify it by soldering original antenna wire to the adapter. I spent the whole day with my friend to install that goddamn nav system. After all I don't know why but airbag icon is flashing now.

Wondering if you go a dash kit for your install. I am not using the AVIC but the Pioneer DEHP700BT single DIN. Cruchfield is slow to get it in and thinking I may have to take drastic measures and pay full price. If I can ask where your dash kit came from? Local or????
