Anyone know of any good radiators for an N/A. My radiator has a piece that goes to the top hose broken so I want to get a new one. I really don't have much knowledge on aftermarket radiators or radiators for the z in general. I don't need an expensive performance one. Just something to replace my OEM.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME NICO

JONA

TT radiator > NA radiator. If you're spending the money on an aftermarket rad, you might as well upgrade. Otherwise just look for a working used one in your area.

So it's possible to install a tt radiator on an n/a??? That I didn't know either. I'm not sure if I need to spend a lot on one. Would it really benefit an n/a?

I think the mounting hardware is a little different. I got a custom radiator for my VH so I never dealt with a TT radiator but I think I remember reading that. Honestly, I'd just look around craigslist for another NA radiator. You won't see any performance gains by upgrading, and unless you push your car hard it's not necessary.

Z1 sells brackets so you can use a tt radiator in an NA

1) TT and NA rads have different mounting
2) IO ran my TT koyo on the Z while it was NA for about 4 months (original rad had the top tank blow up, like literally chunks of plastic and coolant all over the engine bay.
3) I am swapped now with NA mounting positions and TT rad, the radiator rests on the lower core support and i made some little brackets to fit the mounting. basically if you can bend a aluminum plate and drill holes in it you can make your own brackets.

I picked up a new one from my local parts store for $84.50ish, if you're looking for just a basic stock replacement, but don't want to buy used, thats what i would do( and did :))

so i went to my local auto parts store and purchased a replacement radiator, but it looks a little different than my stock one. it has to little pipes at the bottom that look to be for some sort of hoses. i dont think the stock radiator has that. can anyone confirm my suspicion? if correct, what are those hose thingies for? thanks again nico!

My guess is that those are for the auto trans cooling lines. Mine has them as well.

I was looking thru past posts and noticed one by you (long time ago) concerning a new radiator on your 300zx. At the bottom of the radiator were two tubes, whereas on mine there are none. Was it OK to use that radiator with the two tubes?

Yes, you won't leak any fluid, just leave them capped. If you have an automatic, you use those lines for your transmission cooler.
