hello all,
here i have a question regarding the brake..
Sometimes when I hit the brake as i am turning my steering wheel slowly, there is this clanking sound coming from the front end.. at first i thought it was the compression rod that went busted.. but after serveral testing and careful listening.. now i am pretty sure it is the front brake system that is causing this sound..
i brought my car back to the dealer two times in past three months and both times they told me it is because i am usingthe aftermarket brake pads taht don't fit the caliper properly (i bought my 04 G35 auto used in May 2007.. so maybe the previous owner got it replaced with aftermarket pads i think...)... ..and they aint gonna do anything to it sinec its aftermarket parts...one of the service manager even claimed that sinec it is a brand new pad..the pad is too thick to fit in the caliper....all i need to do is to give it some time until the pads gets thinnner then the noise will be gone....i have also brought my car to a local car shop guy and he said it is nothing big deal..,
but i am still kidda worried here as this clanking sound is coming much more often lately....(almost everytime when i hit the brake while turningi the wheel...)...
i did a bit of search on my own on this website and some people mention about the "bed-in" procedure that needs to be done when the pads were first installed.. so i am wondering if this snoise has anything to do with the bed-in procedure that wasn't done properly at the time the pads were installed.. or its because of something esle???
and also.. .is there any ways to fix this problem now??
oh and just for the records, i have a 04 2004 G35 Coupe 5AT non-brembo brake
thank you guys in advance and any suggestions are greatly appreciated..
