Aftermarket or Used Technology Package??

Hello all,

First time poster. I have recently purchased a used 2008 M45x at a pretty good price in good condition. The one drawback however is that it doesn't have the technology package. I was wondering if there are any resources for locating all of the necessary used parts to make my own tech package?

I assume that purchasing the parts new from Infiniti would be out of the question. I suppose going the junkyard route is a possibility but I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for junkyard inventories that might have the parts I need from a wrecked car. Calling around to everywhere I know would be somewhat time prohibitive and I would prefer a web resource.

If I can't install a stock system is there a collection of aftermarket parts that could serve the same function including a backup camera? I would also be interested in a real ipod hookup as well.

I know it will cost a few bucks but I'm really interested in making this happen.

Dang, this is a very ambitious project man... good luck with it & PLEASE document it as you go along. If part of the technology package is the ICC... Intelligent cruise control... I have that module/sensor that I could sell you, it' very expensive from the stealership -like $3k- I wont b selling it for nothing close to that, lol... Also, what're you talking about back up camera? Dont our cars come bone stock with a back up cam??? Or so I thought... that's really a new one for me.

BTW, I also have the proper bumper grille you'll need to fit the sensor... 08+ non sport bumper grille.

Like I said good luck nd keep us posted... this is very ambitious, not impossible but it's out there man...

Yo blanco, how is the tech sensor mounted in the 08 Bumper, I have a 08+sport bumper but it didnt come with lower grills. Also the nonsport lower center grill the same shape as the sport? If so I may be interested in buying it off you.

The sensor DO NOT mount on the bumper cover brother... it mounts on the car itself. The way it works is that on the bumper grille there's going to b an opening for the sensor to b able to "scan" through, meaning, there's 4 variations for the 08+ grille, non sport icc & non icc grille & sport icc nd non icc grille...

I bought the 08+ non sport bumper man & like I stated the grilles are different but it's prolly only like $60 from infinitipartsusa.com... remember that u need to get the foglight trims as well man.

True, thanks, I am going to need the Adv tech package grill with the ICC for sure, I have a diff plan for the fogs and fog locations, they just dont give me enough output to need them. So going with a fog delete instead of fogs.

I will try to document it but I guess the first step is identifying what it is that I need to acquire and where to look for those parts. I'm trying to consider if it is worth it to go the route of trying to add on the various technology package parts OR get the same functionality from aftermarket accessories. I would like to go the stock part route as the features would be "integrated" into the car but I'm having trouble trying to figure out where to begin.

I would even consider a custom shop that would have the capability of doing that but I'm not sure what there is locally that could handle that kind of job or what it would cost.
