I have to replace the O2 sensor in my 2001 QX4. It is a rear one on Bank 1. I assume that bank 1 is the passenger side? right?

Has anyone used an aftermarket O2 sensor? I was going to get one at Atuozone and they are kind of universal. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with them.

Also, do you need to get the PCM reprogramed after replacing an O2 sensor?

Thanks,

no ecm reflash is needed, i replaced mine a couple of thousand miles ago, if ones bad, its best to replace both at the same time.

i bought 2 Bosch o2 sensors off amazon for i think 85 or 90$

here are the exact ones i bought

http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-15...r=8-1

just checked the boxes in the garage.

then all you have to do is splice 3 wires from the old connection underneath, theres a mini waterproof box included in this and they work great.

They work great and are much cheaper then anywhere else will charge you.

Thanks! Good to hear that they worked. I didn't want to buy one from the dealership.

I replaced mine with the Bosch Universal. I bought it at Autozone and they are working fine so far.

With the universal ones, did you have to splice the wires to the plug?

yeah the universal ones come with this water proof box and rubber seals you put around the wires.

so yeah you have to splice them but its straightforward.

I think Summit has KYB brand which dont require splicing?
