This board has been a wealth of information to me as I research the Rogue and am starting to actually shop now.

One dealer has offered to put aftermarket leather on my seats. When I mentioned this to another dealer, he said that the airbags were only designed to work on factory leather and may not deploy properly.

Is this a line of BS or is this something that I should take into consideration?

Also, I've been told the aftermarket leathers looks as good, if not better, than factory leather. Any experience with this?

Thanks!

I can't speak to the airbag issue. However, I did see some after market leather on a Nissan at a dealer near me. It was not on a Rogue, but it did not look as good as stock. It looked like a wrinkled slip cover. I'd want to see it and like it before signing anything. Just my 2 cents...

Well, it may be a little BS....

Classic Soft Trim makes aftermarket leather seat covers for the Rogue and they are OEM 'supported' by Nissan. They are fully compatible with the side impact air bags.
