Don't have the premium stereo but shop said there is an adapter for my G37x that works similar to the stock adapter - takes over the CD change port (have the same in my Volvo) and even shows track info, playlists, etc on the screen (non-Nav). Is this true and if so which adapter is the best bang for the buck that does this?

Thanks

I'm seeing all these aftermarket solutions that some include satellite radio. They require the stereo have a CHANNEL/CHAN or CATEGORY/CAT button. My journey trip with std Bose stereo doesn't so I'm assuming that head unit (or at least that wiring harness) has no SAT capability which is what these solutions are using to interface to? I also looked for a SAT harness in the trunk, couldn't find one.

So I'm assuming I need to use a solution that uses the external CD changer port like the US SPec solution I have on my Volvo. I assume there is a port right, even though it may be an in-dash changer?? Something like this:

It isn't clear though if I get song/artist/playlist info on the screen with this type of solution or merely the ability to control the ipod via the stereo controls.

Any insight is much appreciated.

I got this recently so i could play IPOD AND charge at the same time. I have an '08 g35xs with premium and nav if that helps at all. cheap, but a good product.

That is just the cable for cars with Nav or Premium stereo. I have neither.
