So my Sparco pro 2000 just came in on Wednesday, and I got it installed with minimal effort.(wOOt! found a site that had the base on-hand) I pulled out an aftermarket NISMO seat, and I'm honestly not sure if it was really a Nissan product, or some trash with a fancy cover and I don't really care. The Sparco MUST weigh at least 10-15lb less, sliders and base included. It is beautiful, but will take some getting used to. My problem is this: I love the seat and won't get rid of it now, but in order for me to properly operate the clutch, I have to move the seat fore-ward until the steering wheel has displaced my heart and lungs, which is difficult considering I need them.(pardon my ridiculous exaggeration) In all seriousness though, I'm 6' tall, and I STILL can't comfortably reach the pedals without getting all up in my steering wheel's business. Any way to move the wheel farther away with an aftermarket? I'm looking at Sparco's steering wheels and I like what I see, but it appears that for the most part, after the hub installation they'll end up closer than before. What do? As always, thanks in advance.

Okay I drove the car yesterday and I have reassessed the problem, my issue is not actually with the steering wheel,(while driving) its the shifter and E-brake... So all of this is mute. DERRR

The only thing you can get as far as aftermarket hubs will pretty much put the steering wheel at the stock location. Those are the low profile hubs, and they're about the same position as stock.

Got it, well I have reassessed my problem after driving the car for a few more days, and its not the steering wheel that actually bothers me; its the shifter, the E-brake, and the mirrors. I have thus decided it is more practical to try to bring the clutch closer and myself farther. My thought would be to order a set of pedals, as to avoid making this look pretty ghetto, and get a spacer custom CNCed to move the surface of the clutch pedal about 2 inches closer thus moving me about 2 inches back.(will measure other pedals and do same if necessary) As an added precaution I was thinking maybe have a cone like groove protruding from either side of the spacer, and drilling a matching hole to both the old and new pedal to take the load off of the screws. Any thoughts guys? Is this a bad idea? Any reason why 3 or 4 3" screws wouldn't safely hold it in place?

Hm, as long as it's heavy duty, I don't see why it wouldn't work..... Doesn't our clutch pedal have an adjustment on it though? You just adjust the bump stop out and the pedal will fall further forward, and you adjust the actuating rod to compensate?
