i'm no expert so i can't say for sure no water will or will not get in BUT from what i've heard you don't really have to worry about that with ram air intakes. cool air intakes have the filter at the front and suck in cool water so its easy to get water in it. ram air intakes are in the same place as the stock ones but just allow more air to get into the engine. supposedly Nismo is making a cool air intake in the near future but right now theres only ram air intakes by Ingen and Fujita. i have neither BUT i've heard good things about the Ingen and only a couple people have gotten the other one. hope this helps

Well I personally have the Injen short ram on my 3.5. It comes with a deflector which when installed is facing downwards (below the filter). Aside from that, the transmission is right below it as well as the protective shroud that is clipped on to the front bumper and to the frame below the engine...but that is on the coupe. Not sure of the sedan but I'm assuming that it is a similar setup.

I just went thru the car wash today and opted for the under carriage wash. After going thru it and drying the car, when I opened the hood, everything was dry! So I would suspect its safe to say that you should be good.

Just make sure you get that first oil change soon, that will effect the brake in!
