I've looked around a lot. Aftermarket Intake Manifold... hmmm....

I've been told that honing and boring out the intake manifold helps air passage and smoother turbulance within the chambers when the valve suddenly closes (maintains air velocity so when the valve opens it already has mommentum to charge in; inherently helps 'static compression' on N/A specs).

Is there such thing with the 240sx?I've seen MANY aftermarket intake manifolds for honda's. Are we left in the dark about something or inadvertantly evading a marketing gimmick?

ok it took almost a week to find this out.. just searched online a ton.. then finally asked some local friends and they say the only aftermarket intake manifold made was done by Greddy and has been discontinued for a LONG time which is why you dont find it on any retail stores...

You could always take it to the next level and have the ECU re-tuned for no MAF sensor and then go custom velocity stack setup with four individual throttle bodies............ If you never did another mod to your car, you could still call yourself a true bad *** and get away with it.

sounds complicatedare you meaning to say have a setup thats something like the open header intake manifolds they have for the SR20's?i've seen them in a lot of japanese sports car magazinesthey look like 4 trumpet bells that suck in air to the throttle bodies

on the subject the new M3 throttle rack is tite when it revs

What the hell is that? Are you refferring to individual throttle bodies? Because if so that is what they are called.

I can also get individual throttle bodies for the KA24DE, but it is very, very expensive. Great setup if you wanna go NA. The kit I can get includes manifold, throttle bodies, linkage, injectors, fuel rail...pretty much everything besides the ECU. You have to use an aftermarket stand-alone though. Talking big bucks here but hey if $$$$.$$ aren't a problem go for it!

yes but from ive researched, the SOHC KA has a motorsports manifolds that can be fitted with ITBs from TWM, but no such manifold exists for the DOHC motor. which is a problem. does TWM offer something, or are they planning on something for the ka24DE? or do i have to pick up a spare manifold and start welding?-Enzo

He can fab the manifold for you. I am fabricating one right now. If you have welding background i reccomend you do the same.

whats the cost on the manifold? i dont have a lot of experience, and im not sure i would be able to make this thing...what would i need anyway? im thinking about cutting the long runners, and somehow adding a fuel rail and ITBs w/ horns. then the thing would bolt on to the engine fine, but ?? how do i go about this? im concerned about the ports and such being way screwy and negating any gains...-Enzoif the cost was right ill just buy one. that way the quality will be better anyways.

total cost for the whole ITB system is $2600.00, that includes, manifold, throttle bodies, injectors, fuel rail and all hardware. The actual kit will take some time create due to the manifold fabrication. I believe he said when he gets enough people interested in it, it should be something like 160 days before the finished product can be delivered.
